MIXING
The way I like to approach is a mix is by the way the song speaks to me. I listen to the whole idea and I listen for what was being evoked by the writer, the singer and the producer.
I tend not to focus on instrumentalists as much, as they are mere tools used to creat an aural tapestry. Of course the delivery is important, but by the time I receive mixes the performances are pretty much completely done.
The most important aspect of mixing varies I believe. For some artists it's what format is required for radio, for some artists its demographic. I approach again comes down to the song. I refuse to show any kinks in the armor, so if I receive a mix with less than ideal performances, I can change those perceived imperfections and turn them into personality, all through mixing and applied effects. I understand the artist is hyper critical of self and I refuse to expose the artist in any light other than approbation.

For in house mixing, files must be seperated and sent on a DVD/CD in wav or .LSO format (Logic). If you are not sure, we will contact the person doing the transfer on your behalf.

Vancouver based solo artist Liesa Norman signs deal with Universal. Liesa's debut CD will be released Feb 28th. Dave produced, co-wrote and played guitar, bass, keys and drums on the album.

The North American broadcast of the LA Galaxy vs Vancouver exhibition game was held on November 7th, 2007 in Vancouver. Dave created the music for the opening of the broadcast.
